Le Monde Beryl
Established in 2016 by Lily Atherton Hanbury and Katya Shyfrin, Le Monde Beryl reimagines classic shoes and accessories with a contemporary sensibility. At the core of our collection is the traditional Venetian gondolier’s shoe, originally sewn together from scraps of fabric and rubber during the Second World War; today, our sustainably produced slippers are handmade in Italy by master artisans who employ age-old techniques and the finest velvets, satins, and suedes, as well as intricate embellishments. The name Le Monde Beryl references a family of gemstones, which includes emerald, aquamarine, and morganite; like such exceptional objects, Le Monde Beryl’s richly-colored creations—Mary Janes and Moroccan slippers; leather bags and bespoke jewelry—are crafted to be admired from every angle and stand the test of time.
